Where did you guys meet?
Through a class at WMU, Heather was required to volunteer at a Kalamazoo organization. She chose Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, where Randy worked. After completing her volunteer hours there, she decided to stay on as a volunteer and was eventually hired into their staff family. Randy and Heather worked together but didn't talk much until a co-worker's going away party. After that, they were inseparable! They began dating in May, 2007. If you would like to donate to Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, please click on the link above or contact them by calling (269) 343-3663.
Why did you choose Manistee?
Heather was born in Manistee and much of her immediate family still lives there. She & Randy wanted Traverse City to be the setting for their wedding but it can be costly as it is such a popular tourist town. So they decided on Manistee due to its proximity to Lake Michigan, its cost effective venues and vendors, and the number of helpful and willing family members who have been vital to the planning process while Heather has been finishing up grad school.
